Thirty Seconds To Mars is an american band, founded by the Leto brothers, Jared and Shannon, in 1998. It was when they signed a contract with the record label.
Their first album was released in 2002, and Solon Bixler, Kevin Drake and Matt Wachter joined the band.
Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler were only in the band for about a year. In 2003 they letf the band, and Tomo Milicevic joined.
The album produced two singles - Capricorn and Edge of The Earth.
In 2005 their second album was released - A Beautiful Lie, that produced 4 singles - Attack, The Kill, From Yesterday and A Beautiful Lie. At this time Jared Leto decided to direct their own videos, and by his hand it was produced videos known as the short films of their singles.
In 2007 Matt Wachter left the band for personal reasons.
The third album came out in 2009 and it was produced in middle of a lawsuit. In August 2008 their record label, EMI, prosecuted the band in $30 million, claiming the band refused to deliver three albums as required by its contract. While the band was dealing with the label, they were also creating the new album, This Is War. It was an intense period in the band's life and Jared Leto and his band mates decided to document it. They shoot more than 40.000 hours of their lives in 2009 and the result of that is the documentary Artifact, released in 2012, where they show their battle in the music industry.
The album produced 4 singles, Kings and Queens, Closer To The Edge, Hurricane and This Is War. Due to the nature of the theme chosen by Jared Leto for the Hurricane's video, sex, the short film was censored and created some controversy.
After 2 years and in tour, Thirty Seconds To Mars returned home, LA, and kept working on the new album. Love Lust Faith and Dreams was released in 2013, and to celebrate this event the band decided to launch the CD into space.
In 6 months the album produced 3 singles, Up In The Air, Do Or Die (in Europe) and City Of Angels (only in USA).
In 2017, on August 22th it was released the last work of Thirty Seconds To Mars. After four years, the band has a new single, that belongs to the next album, wich there isn't a date for the release yet. The song is available on itunes, and spotify for steaming and there is a lyric video on youtube.
